Come join the most amazing team!!!!!!

We have had a few of our girls step down in the last few months, most recently Rachel and Jackie and we really miss them all, but the spaces they have left are there to be filled by a whole new set of DT members and so we are very excited to announce our DT call for 3 or 4 new members for 2014.
So.... What's it all about!

  • Fab'n'Funky Challenges is a very popular weekly challenge going live each Wednesday- but we have two teams who post on alternative weeks so as a DT member at Fab'n'Funky your commitment would be to make a project every other week - though you can join in every week if you would like to.  We take holiday breaks in the busy summer and Christmas periods so you don't need to worry about meeting deadlines at these times.
  • We have sponsors every week and prizes for our challenge winners - the majority of these sponsors provide digis for the team to work with - so you need to be able to colour and work with digi stamps
  • Also you must be prepared to promote our sponsors and their images on your blog -  we have some wonderful sponsors for 2014.
  • We have crafters of all styles and abilities on our team - so you do not need to be an experienced crafter or DT member as there is always someone around to help out on our DT blog on blogger where we chat and keep up to date with our challenges - so a blogger account is required so that you can join in with us as we are a very democratic bunch!!
  • The other requirement is that you comment on your allocation each week - and it's always nice to visit your fellow teamies!
  • Oh and just one other thing! - as an added twist this year we are introducing a Christmas challenge in the last week of every month - in a bid to get everyone organised with a few more Christmas cards for next year - now that can't be a bad thing -                                                       so it's Fab'n'Funky Challenges - with an added twist of Christmas!!

If you like the sound of this all you need do is link up to Mr Linky below and we'll pop round to visit you - so have the kettle on for when we arrive!!

Please ensure that there is a link to your email on your blog - or alternatively email it to me on the Fab'n'Funky email address shown on the side bar - after all you want to be sure to get that email telling you that you made the team.

The DT call will run until 6pm GMT 17th January - so you have lots of time to apply, if you have any questions at all just send me an email and ask away!

All that remains is for me to thank you all for your support this year and to wish you all a very Merry Christmas - see you all next year

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow.......

Oh! How I love winter and all the fluffy white snow. Now I just wish it would stay with us for Christmas. It seems to snow and get  all pretty, and then we get two or three days of warm weather again, only to see our beautiful blanket of white melt away.

But hopefully with this weeks challenge over at Fab'n'Funky we will see plenty of Snow in the form of snowflakes on your wonderful creations.

Here is what I came up with.

When I was at the "Treat Store" (as my kids call it. LOL( Mack's convenience)) I notice that they were just throwing out the containers for the 5cent candies. So asked if I could take them. So here is one of those containers. I decorated it with some Bazzill bling cardstock and some Stamp Fairy stamps. Voila an easy gift for the teachers. I think I will fill it up with cookies and chocolates.

Hope you like it!
Your comment are greatly appreciated.

Don't forget to link your project up over at Fab'n'Funky for your chance to win a wonderful prize from our Sponsor this week.

Christmas is coming......

And that means it's time to get started on all of your Christmas cards. Have you started yet? I have to admit I am a little behind this year, but with our new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky I am getting a head start!

This week Judith is our lovely challenge host and she has asked us to use TRADITONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS.

So go pull out those stamps and get started. **Now if you are  one who does not celebrate Christmas please do not feel like you cannot participate, the card does not have to be Christmas themed, it is only the colours that are asked for in this challenge.**

Here is what I came up with. I used one of the sweetest Santa stamps. I have been looking for something like this for a long time and finally found it at Digi Darla Designs, and it is called Santa Clause 2. I love it, and I know this stamp will be used often this season!

The image is coloured with my trusted Copic markers, The DP is from Echo Park, and the sentiment is from Netty's Cards (she has plenty of wonderful freebies!)

Thank you for stopping by, it is greatly appreciated, please leave a comment to let me know that you stopped by.

Don't forget to show us your lovely creations over at Fab'n'Funky, we sure do love to see them and you also have a chance to some wonderful stamps from Digi Darla Designs.

Good morning..........ONLY 1 MORE DAY!!!!!

Until Halloween!

And let me tell you my daughter has not let me forget it! She has been doing a count down all month long.

This week our challenge over at Fab'n'Funky is a Halloween theme, I must admit that I took the inspiration quite loosely. I know you would think that I would be all over the Halloween themed cards, but I don't really make them. I like to celebrate it, just not with cards. So I chose to use a stamp called jar Autumn from Bugaboo (our sponsor this week)

Here is my card.

Thank you for stopping by this week. I hope you can join us this over at Fab'n'Funky, we truly do love to see your creations.

My how the time flies by. It seems like I just posted my last card only a few days ago! I love the fall weather we have been getting, with the nice crisp air and warm days. I have been out walking with my pup almost everyday. Love it!

Now onto our challenge over at Fab'n'Funky. This week our challenge is "Spots and Stripes". Here is my card. This week we were able to play with Inky Impression stamps. I used Angelica raking.

I don't normally do Halloween themed cards, but stamp just made me smile. So I had to use her. She is a stamp from Inky Impressions, our sponsor for this week.

Hope you like it, and can join us this week.
We truly do love to see your beautiful creations!

Hello Everyone!!

I hope you all having a wonderful start to fall. I am truly loving the temperatures. I can easily take the dog out for a long walk, or even joining my hubby out in the yard and help out with some of the chores. Sure beats, hibernating in the basement to avoid the heat! LOL

Well it is Wednesday again and that means another Challenge for Fab'n'Funky. This week we our them is :

Its all Rock'n'Roll to me!

This week we were very lucky to be able to play with some digi stamps from one of my favorite designers. Kenny K.

Here is what I came up with.

I wanted to keep it girly . I think I was able to pull it off!

I hope you all like it, and can play along this week with us. We sure do love to see your lovely creations.

Bad,bad, bad blogger.....

Sorry for being MIA lately. Life and work just seem to have gotten the better of me. I have had to re-learn how to mange my time being back at work. Darn summer break! LOL

But I am back with a new card for Fab'n'Funky. This week our theme is "Use Ribbon". We were also lucky enough to work with some awesome images from Stamp Fairy.

This week I really wanted to challenge myself and wanted to make a supper simply White on White card. Well I almost got it.

I tried I really did! I love the look of white on white, but I just can't seem to pull it off. It looked so plain and REALLY needed something. So I used some burgundy ribbon and matching cardstock for the inside.

Would love to know what you think about a White on White card. Can you pull it off?

Do you like the sentiment? It is a Freebie from Netty's Cards. Go check out her blog, she has so many great sentiments.

Don't forget to stop by Fab'n'Funky and show us your lovely creations with ribbons!
We sure love to see them!

Opposite's Attract!

Good morning! Day two of school here, and I am so excited! I am so happy to be back to work!

Well this is my second post of the day, and this time I am bringing you the fun new challenge from
Fab'n'Funky. This week Alli has challenged us to use the opposite colours on the colour wheel. So for those of you not familiar with the colour wheel here are the three most common combo of opposites RED/GREEN -  BLUE/ORANGE - YELLOW/PURPLE.

I  have taken a little bit of liberty with my interpretation, I went with pink (a shade of the red family) and green. You see this is a sneak peak at my calendar album, and this is the page for the month of May. I did not want it to look like a Christmassy page.

Here is the page open, the flap with Elphie the elephant(from Stampart)  closes and there you will find a calendar page with the month written in stickers. (not quite done yet).

I have popped Elphie up on pop dots and am using her as an anchor for some tags or maybe for some photos. Here is a close up of the flap and the stamp.

Well I hope you like it. Hopefully I will be able to give a full view of the album soon.
Don't forget to head on over to Fab'n'Funky and show us your wonderful creations using opposites! We truly do love to see them.

Have a great day!

Crafter's Cafe No DP

Good day everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! It feels so good to be back at work. How I missed little munchkins!

Well onto this weeks challenge, over at Crafter's Café, This week are being asked to not use any Designer papers. That's right Cardstock only. You can emboss, ink, paint..... you can do all sorts of things to decorate your CS!

I have used an embossing folder on the background and stamped some flourishes as well. I then used my Cuttlebug to cut and emboss the image. (image from Fred She Said)

Hope you like it!

Have a great day! And don't forget to leave us link to your creation over at Crafter's Café!

As summer comes to an end........

I am preparing for the new school year. All the kids bags are packed, as is mine. The lunch boxes are on the counter ready to be packed and Tuesday's supper is ready for the crock pot in the morning, (I think my Crock Pot has had some abandonment issues over the summer! LOL) I am so excited!!!!!

I thought I would give you quick run down of some of our activities from this summer.

Well this summer we were able to go away for a week to beautiful cottage. Our neighbor let us have it for the week. Man I loved it and could so easily live the cottage life. The stars were beautiful at night, and the lake so quiet. We heard loons crying in the morning, went boating and canoeing. Anize lived in the water for entire week we were there.

I also learned that I was the best in family at both Ping-Pong and Darts! Here are the photos to prove it! (Well at least in darts ;o) )
Yeah that's right what you see here is a bull's eye and then I got a double and triple 20!! Apparently some of the hardest shots to make! Jeff kept trying to beat me all week, but hey what can I say, when you got it you got, ..................and he didn't! Tee-Hee!

After the cottage, we started to prepare for Anize's birthday. This year my baby turned 10! She wanted a beach party this year. So we packed her and three of her friends into the van and drove up to the 19th concession in Lafontaine and spent the day at the beach! The girls had a blast!
We then came home and surprised her with a beach themed cake. (I wouldn't let her into the kitchen all day while I made it!)

Anize has been asking for an I-pod for over a year, well this year she was super excited and surprised when she got her very own! Here she is on her actual birthday just after she opened it!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful summer! We sure did!

Happy Hump Day!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! (Or for some of you the winter! ;o) ) Well I am here to tell you about another new "SUMMER LIKE" Challenge over at Fab'n'Funky. This week we got to work with a new sponsor called "Lacy Sunshine" and her images are absolutely adorable. I chose to use "Eleanor Hummingbird".

Sadly my mojo seems to have taken a little trip this week, and I was left sitting at my table for a long time trying to figure out what to do with this lovely image. I eventually went with a simply sketch from the Sketch Saturday blog.

So if anyone finds my mojo, please send it promptly back home, it is greatly missed!!!!

Here is my simple card for this week.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by Fab'n'Funky and show us your summery project.

Crafter's Cafe....A new challenge

Hello everyone. Hope you are all having a good day. I have been super busy as of late. Lot's of crafty projects on the go, and we are in the process of painting all our kitchen cabinets. The laminate was peeling off most of them and looked really awful.  So we went out and bought some new paint. I tell you it is a very long process when the weather is very damp. It takes days for the paint dry thoroughly. Hoping the sun comes out soon, so that I can put my kitchen back together. But now I digress.

Well it is Wednesday and that means that there is another challenge over at Crafter's Café. This week is another "Anything goes" theme, and we sponsored once again by Rick St-Dennis.

Here is what I came up with.

Hope you like it! I had fun colouring this image.

Don't forget to stop by Crafter's Café and show us your beautiful creations.

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Good morning everyone! It's another Wednesday so that means another new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky. This week it is my turn to host the challenge.

This time our challenge will be running for two weeks, and we have three wonderful and generous sponsors.

So this week the challenge is Make it a set. You can make a gift set of cards. Matching card and envelope, matching card and tag or gift bag. The possibilities are endless.

Here is what I came up with. I originally wanted to make a couple of matching cards, but then realised that the cards were two different sizes. (Oops! I made them on different days.)
So I made a matching envie to go along with my card.

Here is my card with the matching envie.

The two card together. Don't you thing they would have gone well together as part of a gift set?

Here are some close ups of the two cards. This week I used the digi stamp set "Hang in There" from Doodle Pantry.

That's all for today. Hope you like them, and don't' forget to link your creative set's over at Fab'n'Funky for your chance to win of three prizes!

Thank you for stopping by.

I know it's been a while.....

But I have been a busy girl. First I made a cake for my girlfriends wedding. (The cake and the heat did not go well together :o( )

Then Jeff and I took photos at her wedding. It took me about three days to touch some of them up in Photoshop. Here are few of my fav's. (yes I have her permission to post them)

The bride and groom

Father and the bride

Bride and groom, one more kiss.

Bridesmaid's bouquet.

It was such a nice wedding. She told everyone to come to the waterfront with their lawn chairs. LOL So everyone huddled around with blankets and lawn chairs on the waterfront, and watched a beautiful and touching wedding.

Well I hope you liked them, I will be back tomorrow with a little something crafty.
Until then I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I ain't square!!!!

At least not this week I am not! Good day everyone! Another Wednesday, so that means another challenge at Fab'n'Funky. And this week our challenge was to not use squares. So I went the easy (and somewhat obvious) route, and made a circle shaped easel card.

This week's sponsor is none other than ....

And....

Now here is my card. I loved this little stamps of A cat in a wine glass. I just had to colour this one up as soon as I saw it!

Hope you all liked it! Please leave a comment, I sure do appreciated it when you do!
Thank you, and don't forget to link your wonderful creations to Fab'n'Funky for a chance to win some wonderful prizes this week!

Challenges:
Bearly Mine: Anything goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge: Anything goes/animals
My heart pieces: Use digi stamp

Sweet dreams dragon!

Good morning everyone! I am so happy to be posting this today. Today is my first day posting something for The Crafter's Café. This week our sponsor is Rick St.Dennis. And our theme is Anything Goes! When I got to look through all their wonderful stamps, I fell in love with this little dragon taking a nap. (besides, hubby loves dragon's too, and his birthday just passed, so this was also his B-D card!)

Here is what I came up with! Hope you like it! Coloured with my Copics.

I tried to get the glimmer mist to show in the photos, but alas it did not, it really gives the card a mystical feel to it!

Thank you for stopping by and seeing me! Your comments are always appreciated, and don't forget to link up you creations over at CCCB, so that you might have a chance at winning a prize!

Today he is ..............

45

Yup, that's right today my man turns 45 years old.

Happy Birthday Honey!

I love you!

Yes that is him stealing another helping of Lemon Meringue Pie!

As for his cake, this year I let Anize be the decorator. She chose to make a cake with some mice/rats for the theme. So we went with the three bling mice! (Well they are really rats! LOL)

Her inspiration, our little rats and a card that Jeff got from his brother that had a little mouse about to cut into a slice of cheese with a candle on it. The captions says, "time to cut the cheese".

So here it is.

A better look at the mice.

She sculpted two of the mice and the cheese. I did the other mouse/rat.

You can't really see it in the photo, but we even added some texture to the tail, just like our little rats tail. So cute!
