feeling under the weather

 I spent two days at home last week with the kids being sick, it seems that the gastric flu went through our home. Now I seem to be suffering from laryngitis, and a major head cold! Grrrrr! I constantly feel like I floating under water! Well at least I will get to get some scrappy time!

Last week turned out to be a beautiful week! They kept calling for rain, but it never came. So the kids got to go out and do some biking and scooting!

Here is Anize! She is so excited this year, She just learned how to use the scooter. Now she wants to scooter everywhere! She even asked me if she could scooter to school! LOL!

I just had to share this photo with you. Let me set up the scenario here! We were getting ready to go for a car ride out to DQ with my cousin and the kids. Well Jared was going to sit in the back seat of her SVU, but we soon realised that his long lanky legs would not fit in the back, so we told him to get out and we would put someone shorter in the back instead. Well as he tried to get out of the back seat, his butt slipped between the back seat and the one in front of him and he got caught!!! I was laughing so hard that my throat was so sore!!!(The whole laryngitis thing!) We did get him out, but it did take some thinking! LOL!

And the last photo I wanted to share today, was this one! It was so nice out that Jeff wanted to get the front lawn raked. I thought it was so cute to see Anize out there helping him out! She did an awesome job too!

Oh! I almost forgot to share this little project with you! When Anize was in SK her teacher took a whole whack of photos and put them all on a CD for the parents at the end of the year. So I printed them all out and made a mini album for Anize. Here are some of the pages.

Wow! It's been a while since I really blogged!

I have been such a bad blogger! I have been busy though. I was asked to make a cake for the French High School's Basket Ball team. They are doing a fund raiser, and thought the cake would be fun to "auction" off to the highest paying class. I will have to post some pictures of the cake later. I am just waiting for the photos.

I have also been busy trying to get some challenges done over at Scrapbook Star. Janet one the DT members, challenged us to use doilies on our layouts, (Or something not scrap related) Here is what I came up with. I chalked one little doily and then cut the ruffles of the large one and used it as my border. I really like how it turned out!

 I have so many cards that need to be made in the next month, that I am almost stressing about it! LOL! Just kidding, I love making cards. I decided to use a sketch from Sketch Saturday (http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/) for this first card.
                                       
I have had this little image coloured for a while, and finally got to put her on a card! Yeah!

 The next one was supposed to be for Friday Sketcher (http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/) but once again, I missed the deadline. I do that way too often! LOL! This card is for a co-worker who is leaving us today. She is going to work in a daycare closer to home. I know she will be truly missed.

 I also made her a little going away cake. It's the least I can do!

Wow! 2 post-1 day!

I had a little unexpected scrappy time today, so I thought I would get this one card in for a challenge over at Sketch Saturday. I am squeaking it in at the last minute, but at least I got it in on time this week!

A BitterSweet Day

Today my emotions are all over the place! Thirteen years ago, my little boy was born and placed into my arms. I can still remember how he felt all bundled up in my arms. I was scared and thrilled all at the same time. Today I find that I am feeling those same emotions. He is no longer my baby, and has been growing into quite a young man that am so proud of! I feel like a Momma bird who has to teach her little one to trust in his wings and learn to fly solo. He is that little bird who so eager to go, but a little hesitant of the fall that might come when he takes that leap. I know I sound sappy, but you have to understand that my little boy has overcome, so many obstacles over the last few years and has grown more than I thought possible in the last two years. I am so happy to call this little/tall kid my son! I am sad to see my baby go, but I can't wait to see what kind of man he will turn into!

Happy Birthday Bud!!!

Now onto less Sappy stuff. Jared had some friends over last night and they all slept in the basement, At 3 am they were still going strong and watching movies. (Maybe that's why I am so Sappy this morning!LOL!) He keeps saying that he's half Irish, because his birthday is on St Patty's Day,  and because his favorite colour is green. So this year I wanted to make his cake with the St Patty's Day theme. So I thought what says St Patty's Day better and a pot of gold?

 With a little something to make it shine!

 Then I started to think about a way to give it a little WOW factor. Then I thought of a cake I had made a few years ago,(A rainbow cake) and I knew it was perfect! Where do you normally find the pot of gold? Well at the end of the Rainbow of course!!!

The kids loved it! The layers were covered with a Peanut Butter mousse and chocolate icing. Yummy! Mind you we don't have very many coins left this morning. The goblins kept stealing them throughout the night. LOL!

I know it's been a while since I last blogged. We have been busy around here and trying to get into a regular scheduel, with Jeff working 3-11 every night, I have essentially become a single Mom. But we are managing!
I have a few things to share with you today. First off here the cake that I made for my aunt's 50 th birthday.

She runs/wons a spa and does Hypnosis as well. So my mom really wanted a cake that had some kind of theme around that. So the first thing that popped into my head when she said that she was turning 50 was 50 pink flamingoes on the lawn. So then Jeff pipped up why not put it in the tub? So that is why she has a very big pink flamingo relaxing in the tub for her cake. If you are wondering why the eyes are so large it is because they are cucumbers to help her relax. LOL!

Next I would like to share a little something that I did for Scrapbook Star. All of you who are scrappers will understand what I mean when I say that I hate it when my rub-ons dry out! I have so many packages from a long time ago, that all I see are dollar signs flying out the window! Well last week I took another look at those dried out rub-ons and came up with a clever way to use them on LO anyway! I cut around the image and then glued them onto the Layout!

The flowers were part of the rub-ons. So what do you think? Think you might give it a try too? I hope so. If you do please be sure to let me know.

Monthly challenge

Well it's that time of the month again! No not Mother Nature's time, but the challenges of the month are posted at Scrapbook Star! Here is what I came up with, with the kit!

When I saw the kit, the colours just called out to me to get out the old childhood photos! So that is what I did.

Have been busy...

It has been crazy busy here for the last week and a half. Jeff has started a new full time job, and has already been able to put in some OT! Yeah! The only downfall to the new job is he works 3-11 pm. So we don't really get to see him much during the week.
I have been busy trying to get all my DT stuff done on time. This is the first time I have to do it and I think I stressed out a little more than needed! LOL! But I think I am getting the hang of it! I have also been busy making a gorgeous (if I do say so myself) cake for my little neighbor. It was her tenth birthday this week and she asked me for a birthday cake. Well me being me, I could not say no, and I could not just make her a simple little cake! LOL. The theme was Hawaiian. Here is her cake.
